Academy students raise over $600 in one day for the Kid2Kid campaign

As this summer's Theater Academy comes to a close this week, students rallied together to set an all-time, one-day fundraising effort for their Kid2Kid campaign - a fundraising effort among Academy students that helps fund Theater Academy scholarships for deserving families.

Between a lunchtime bake sale and the Penny War - a fundraising competition spearheaded by longtime Academy student Ari Shapiro - a grand total of $625.39 was raised for the Kid2Kid campaign, breaking the previous record in 2003 of over $500!

The results of today's efforts were presented at today's End of Day session, and was met with wild applause.

In addition to the applause, Theater Academy Director/Associate Artistic Director John Maclay made good on a promise he made if over $300 was raised - having his head shaved during End of Day! Artistic Director Jeff Frank did the honors.
