The BEST reunion ever!

4:33 PM
It was a messy night but that didn't stop over 60 Best Christmas Pageant Ever alumni and their families from attending a reunion performance and party at the Todd Wehr Theater last week.  Old friends warmly greeted each other in the lobby before joining the full house to watch the lastest staging of this show that has become First Stage's signature holiday production.  First Stage has previously mounted this production in 1990, 1991, 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2003.

At the top of the second act, actress Molly Rhode, herself a Pageant alumnus several times over, pulled on stage former directors Rob Goodman, Michael LaGue, and Jeff Frank, for an impromptu warm-up.  Ms. Rhode then asked alums in the audience to please stand up.  The applause was long and loud.

Director Jeff Frank wrote in a note to the alumni:

"Every so often in our lives, an opportunity comes along to be a part of something special, and we want to thank all of you for embracing your opportunity to be a part of THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER and sharing with our community -- gladdening their hearts and opening their eyes -- encouraging them to look beyond, to be open to possibility, to be open to hope and to what we can accomplish when we find a way to come together toward a common goal."

Following the performance, the party continued at the Water Street Brewery.  Here are some photos from that event.  Thank you to all who participated in THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER Reunion!
