This production is made possible by First Stage's New Play Development Program which supports efforts to develop new works for young audiences. Now in its 24th season, First Stage has proudly presented over 40 new plays -- from world premieres such as HOW I BECAME A PIRATE to adaptations like THE WIZ.
THE MAGIC BICYCLE is one of three new works that First Stage is producing this season. Last month, First Stage collaborated with Academy Award-winning composer Stephen Schwartz on a holiday adaptation of the musical MY SON PINOCCHIO. This spring, First Stage will launch an original musical, U: BUG: ME!
First Stage is committed to educating, empowering, and inspiring young minds. We strive to stretch young imaginations to their fullest potential. We encourage our audience members to think outside of the box and to embrace new ideas and we do so by telling brand new, age-appropriate stories that are brought to life by young people from our community working alongside professional actors.
