HOW I BECAME A PIRATE: first time
By young performer Keegan Cimler who plays Jeremy Jacob in the Bucko Cast of HOW I BECAME A PIRATE
This is my first time working with First Stage and I have to say that it has been the most amazing experience. Everyone is so fun to work with… it never seems like work (but, trust me, it is!). I especially enjoy our director, John Maclay. He brings the performance to life with all of his ideas and makes me feel right at home.
I think the best thing about the show is working with all these great actors because they are the energy of the show. It’s cool how we hardly knew each other at the beginning, but within a few weeks, we are a family. Everyone is so positive and so supportive, but we also like to mess with each other by playing practical jokes here and there. (haha)
Rehearsals have been pretty sweet. We learned new material every week, but it would sometimes change along the way. It definitely kept me on my toes. I have learned so much about connecting my character to another character by using better eye contact and having confidence with my lines. I come to rehearsals believing I am Jeremy Jacob and I try to bring that to the stage. When I am not at rehearsal, I find that I can’t stop thinking about the show.
Well, we’re only a few days away from Opening Night, so what I mainly want to say is, “Let the good times roll!”
