WITNESS: Task Force

The WITNESS Task Force began meeting regularly in September. Our purpose is to increase the audience for this powerful show by connecting with Milwaukee organizations, neighborhoods, and groups. In our meetings, we couldn’t help but link the important message of this show to the political events unfolding since autumn. In that spirit, we are pleased to partner with the City of Milwaukee’s 25th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration. This event takes place on Sunday, January 18th at the Marcus Center. Check it out here.
We have invited Senator Herb Kohl to be a guest in the audience of WITNESS so that we may honor him from the stage with the 2009 Positive Change Award. Senator Kohl has dedicated years of service to children’s issues, proactive crime prevention legislation, improvement of statewide education, and support for working families. Like Leanora in WITNESS, Senator Kohl stands up for what he believes in. He is a role model for all of us.
